ART for Cancer Foundation Call for Submissions – due 1/6/12

The ART for Cancer Foundation will be holding a special visual art exhibit from Feb 17-24, 2012 at Toronto City Hall Rotunda.

The multi-media exhibit will raise awareness of the power of the creative process as a healing force, as well as to promote the ART for Cancer Foundation’s creative programs for cancer patients. Anyone who has created art as a means of coping with a life- changing situation and/or as part of a healing process is invited to participate.

“Creative expression, through painting was the glue that kept me together, when I lost both my parents to cancer within a span of 15 months”, says Cid Palacio, founder of the ART for Cancer Foundation.

Call for submissions is open until January 6, 2012. We also welcome entries from artists who donate a portion of their art sales to help fight cancer.

Accepted Media: All two dimensional work including paintings/drawings/mixed media/photography. For full details on submitting your entry please visit our website.

As part of our mandate to improve the quality of life for those living with cancer, The ART for Cancer Foundation offers free creative painting workshops for cancer patients, their families and care providers. The next “Creating from Within” workshop is on Jan 23, 2012.
