Call For Proposals: 2012 Celebrate Providence! Neighborhood Performing Arts Initiative

Mayor Angel Taveras and the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism are pleased to announce an initiative in public programming. The Celebrate Providence! 2012 Neighborhood Performing Arts Initiative is a program designed to create artistic and cultural opportunities for youth, adults and families in the City of Providence. Through the program, funds will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that will work in conjunction with the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism and the Department of Parks and Recreation to bring high quality public programming directly to the neighborhoods of Providence.

The Department of Art, Culture + Tourism is now requesting proposals to the Neighborhood Performing Arts Initiative from Providence-based, non-profit, community and arts organizations. Programming must take place during July & August 2012. Funding will range from $500 – $4,000 per project. Only one proposal will be accepted from an organization. Applications are due by February 13, 2012 at 4pm. Notification of acceptance will be made by March 30, 2012.

Information Session: An informational session for applying to this initiative will take place on January 25 at 10am at 444 Westminster Street. To register for this workshop please email jschwartz@providenceri.com. Pre-registration is required. There is no fee for this informational session.
