Opportunity for Pacific Northwest Artists

Humboldt Artist Gallery is currently recruiting established artists who would like to participate in the new Humboldt Artist Gallery at the Morris Graves Museum of Art (MGMA), a program of the Humboldt Art Council in Eureka, California. They are interested in presenting a variety of the exceptional art in our region; artists participating in a variety of all media are encouraged to apply.

Participants of the Humboldt Artist Gallery will be provided with:

  • Year-round sales and exposure in a popular art museum setting
  • Promotion of your work by the Humboldt Arts Council and the MGMA
  • An opportunity to be a featured artist in the Humboldt Artist Gallery
  • Guaranteed quality control and space for your work
  • 80% retained by you from your gallery sales
  • An opportunity to collaborate with other artists

Responsibilities of each Art Sales Gallery participant:

  • One full day (5 hours) of gallery-sitting every four weeks
  • Creative display of your art
  • $60 a month rent for your gallery sales space
  • 20% commission on sales of your work, 10% of outside sales resulting from gallery sales exposure

To qualify for participation, you must be an artist who produces art on a regular basis and be a member of the Humboldt Arts Council. Artists of the Pacific Northwest are particularly encouraged to apply. The Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street, Eureka is open to the public noon-5p.m., Thursday through Sunday. Museum admission is by donation: $4 for adults, $1 for seniors age 55 and older; HAC Members and children age 12 and under are admitted free. Admission is always free for everyone during each First Saturday Arts Alive!, 6-9 p.m.
